The role
The Electrical Energy Management Group is recruiting a Senior Research Associate in the Experimental Characterisation of Rotating Machines. The post will involve working as part of a large project, with industrial partners, to develop new approaches to monitor bearing health in electric machines for future aerospace applications.
What will you be doing?
Undertake research into health monitoring of bearings in rotating electric machines for future aerospace applications. Develop and optimise experimental methods to emulate and accelerate in-service effects and evaluate methods and apparatus to monitor bearing health. Become an active member of the Electrical Energy Management Group and closely collaborate with research and development teams from aerospace original equipment manufacturers and their supply chain partners.
You should apply if
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience. You should have experience developing experiments to characterise rotating machinery. The post calls for someone with broad engineering laboratory skills. You will need an aptitude for working across Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
