As a Research Fellow on the study, you will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination and delivery of high quality research on the study, with the support of the Principal Investigator Dr Anne-Sophie Darlington. The post holder will be responsible for planning and conducting data collection, analysis and interpretation, and dissemination of findings of this project.
This exciting study focuses on understanding quality of life for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer, in order to develop and validate questionnaires, which can be used in cancer clinical trials. This is a large international study, with multiple international collaborators. Interviews will be carried out with young adults to understand quality of life concerns unique to them, and questionnaire data will be collected from hundreds of children and young people, nationally and internationally.
You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Health Psychology or a related area, such as health services research, child health, nursing and have:
- Experience of research with children, adolescents, and young adults with a chronic condition (desirable)
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills
- Knowledge and understanding of experience of children, adolescents and young adults with a chronic illness (desirable)
- Proven ability to organise a range of high quality research activities to deadline and quality standards
- Excellent communication and paper writing skills with a track record of published research.
You will need to work effectively with members of the study team. You will also need to work effectively with health care professionals, nationally and internationally, and members of the public/service users to develop, deliver and disseminate the work of the research project.

The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
