Package: Research Teaching and Enterprise, Grade 8 from £61,823 to £69,561 per annum. Subject to annual pay award. In exceptional circumstances the University may offer a market supplement of up to 10% of the maximum salary quoted per annum.

School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering:


The Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering is one of the largest engineering schools of its kind in the UK. We aim to provide international leadership in research and innovation and an unrivalled educational experience.


The vision for our research is to provide world-leading engineering solutions to today’s global challenges. Research grants, principally from the UK Research Councils and the EU, and extensive industrial collaborations generate more than £14million in annual research funds and provides a portfolio of more than £52million. In the REF2021 exercise 100% of research impact was rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally’ excellent.


In addition to holding two prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for our research, we are currently home to a number of national centres: in Regenerative Medicine; Power Trains and Control; our Sports Technology Institute, which contributes to our institution’s QS world No. 1 ranking in sports subjects, the Centre for Intelligent Automation and the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST), which has a world-leading reputation for research across a spectrum of renewable energy technologies. Successful candidates will have a record of academic excellence which is contributing to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline and which is recognised internationally. Candidates must also have a PhD or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate academic leadership, as well as a clear trajectory towards further achievement at a higher academic level.
