The Queen’s School of Engineering (Aerospace, Civil and Mechanical) wishes to make a leadership appointment to the position of Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. Suitable candidates will demonstrate the leadership capability required to take on the role from 1 August 2017, together with an excellent track record in teaching or research in one of the following; infrastructure systems, structural engineering, design of the built environment, or materials in construction. The Department has particular strengths in earthquake and geotechnical engineering, dynamics, water and environment, and engineering systems and design. Research and teaching are supported by world class laboratory facilities, especially the earthquake shaking table which is unique in the UK. We are seeking to appoint a professor of international calibre who can build on and extend existing research strengths and lead the future development of teaching.
