As part of a world-renowned Russell Group University with a global reputation for academic excellence, we offer a stimulating, challenging and dynamic working environment for all our staff. It is an exciting time to join the School, having recently secured AACSB accreditation as well as having AMBA for our MBA, and we are now seeking to recruit an outstanding individual for a key leadership and management position who will support the Head of Southampton Business School in achieving its vision of excellence in the three core pillars of education, research and enterprise.
The Business School has six established discipline groups: Accounting; Banking & Finance; HRM/OB; Decision Analytics & Risk; Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship; and Digital & Data Driven Marketing. In total there are approximately 115 FTE academic staff and in the region of 2,500 students on UG, PG and PhD/DBA programmes. We aim to provide management research and education with rigour and relevance and aspire to be a triple accredited Business School. We continue to innovate in management and business education and research and have a particularly strong focus on inter disciplinary research that capitalises on the strengths of the University of Southampton and within the Faculty.
As the Deputy Head of School, alongside your substantive professorial post, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic and operational leadership in the School within the framework of the University and Faculty plans. You will be an experienced and respected academic with strong leadership credentials and a strong commitment to making a positive difference to the student experience.
We would like to hear from applicants with complimentary research interests in any of the above subject areas, although applications in the discipline of Management Science/Business Analytics would be particularly welcomed, and/or substantial leadership experience in higher education. The post of Deputy Head of School would sit alongside the substantive professorial position for an initial period of three years.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact the Head of Southampton Business School, Professor Martin Broad firstname.lastname@example.org
