A post-doctoral position is available to work on the Thematic Project “Signaling and regulatory network studies associated to the Energy Cane”, under supervision of Prof. Helaine Carrer, at the Genomics and Molecular Biology of Plants, College of Agriculture (ESALQ), University of São Paulo, Brazil.
Candidates should hold a PhD in Plant Biochemistry, Genetic and Molecular Biology, Agronomy, or a related field. Experience in Plant Biochemistry and molecular biology is desired, and experience in basic tools of bioinformatics, cloning vector constructions, plant genetic transformation (preferentially grasses), and quantitative PCR is expected. Proficiency in English is recommended. Candidates will develop research involving expression analysis of target genes identified in the regulatory network involved in fiber and lignin biosynthesis to improve energy cane.

The FAPESP PD fellowship consists of a stipend of R$ 7.174,80/month, plus 15% of the annual value of the stipend is for technical reserve funds, which can be used to cover expenses directly related to the development of the research project.
