 It aims to determine the species of Culicidae and Culicoides sp vectors of Haemosporidians and emerging viruses of veterinary importance and Public Health. The grantee, based in São Paulo, Brazil, will carry out collect and identification of species (morphological and molecular) and various molecular methods to detect and to characterize pathogens in these vectors, such as molecular genotyping and genomic sequencing of parasites.


The prerequisites for the position are:

  • Doctor's degree in area related to the project (eg Epidemiology, Public Health, Parasitology);
  • Experience in projects involving molecular biology techniques in mosquitoes and parasites; field of sequence analysis programs; experience with molecular methods of genotyping and genomic sequencing.


The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected will receive São Paulo Research Foundation-FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the amount of BRL 7,174.80 per month and Technical Reserve. The Technical Reserve of PD Grant is equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship and is intended to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
