Summary
A post-doctoral fellowship position, in Brazil, is being offered for researchers who have completed their Ph.D. less than seven years ago. Candidates must have a Ph.D. diploma in Computer Science, related to at least one of the following topics: Human-Computer Interaction; Robotics; Natural Interfaces; Tangible Interfaces; Accessibility and Universal Design; Participatory Design; Organizational Semiotics and Software Engineering.
During the fellowship, the selected candidate must live in the city of Campinas, at the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Our research facilities are located in the University of Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP post-doctoral fellowship, in Brazil, with a monthly stipend of R$ 7,373.10 (about US$1.800 or EU$1.500), access to the health-care system of Unicamp, and research contingency funds (15% of the annual value of the fellowship, each year). For more details, check out FAPESP’s webpage: http://www.fapesp.br/en/5427. The fellowship has a duration of 12 (twelve) months, and can be renewed for 12 more. About the Project
The context of socioenactive systems represents a completely new and extremely complex scenario to treat Accessibility, because of the fact that it involves a multiplicity of devices and senses, combined in dynamic situations of use and effects of such use, in both individual and social dimensions. A key question comprises of allowing the accessible interaction with the systems to include new interaction modalities (tangible, wearable and natural interfaces) in contexts with an immense diversity of people. Such question requires profound investigations, as well as conceptual, experimental and practical contributions. While the concept and the techniques to design more accessible systems has been widely studied in the context of Web systems, there is less research in complex scenarios that dynamically link human and technological processes. Our goal is to conduct a detailed investigation, proposing a systemic approach to promote accessibility in socioenactive systems. We aim to study several aspects of how to integrate diverse media as a way of allowing accessibility, as well as the effects of the use of these media. This project proposes making experimental validations, to evaluate methods and prototypes being developed, in practical scenarios of socioenactive systems.
We also expect that the selected candidate will link the theories and practices involved in the project. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Maria Cecília Calani Baranauskas, together with the project’s main researchers: Prof. José Armando Valente e Prof. Maria Teresa Egler Mantoan, both from UNICAMP, Brazil.

Candidate Selection
The selection process will consist in an analysis of the candidates’ application documents (first step) and in an interview with the chosen candidates (second step). Candidates who live far from Campinas can do the interview via Skype. The result from the first step will be informed by e-mail, and the interview will be scheduled with the candidates also via e-mail.

Application
Candidates must send their documentation via e-mail to socioenativos@ic.unicamp.br. To apply, it is required a presentation letter, where the candidate explains his/her interest in the proposed topics for the project, the updated academic Curriculum Vitae (CV), and the indication of a reference professional who knows the candidate and who can be contacted by the Project team. The deadline to apply is September 28th 2018, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Tentative to begin working: November 1st, 2018.
