The Experimental Immunology research group at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel in Switzerland is looking for a PhD student to work on human immunology (starting immediately).
The Experimental Immunology research group is a well-established team with expertise in immunology and it has collaborations with clinicians at the University Hospital in Basel and with academic partners worldwide.
We are studying the role of innate-like T cells in human diseases and their recognition of non-peptidic antigens. Particular emphasis is on the identification of small metabolites that stimulate T cells.
The selected candidate will be part of a team investigating these aspects in physiological and pathological conditions including cancer, infections and inflammatory diseases.
A master of science degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine or biotechnology is required. A background in biochemistry and knowledge of HPLC analysis is of advantage. The candidate will also collaborate with a group expert in mass-spectrometry of small non-peptidic molecules.
The position requires teamwork ability, high communication skills and enthusiasm.
