The International Business Division at Leeds University Business School has global recognition for the quality of its research and teaching. Independent assessments have ranked the International Business Division as the 1st International Business centre in the world and 2nd in the world for leadership in international business research. Within the University of Leeds, the Division has been designated as a Gold Peak of Excellence for the outstanding international calibre of its research.
This highly successful Division is looking to recruit a Peter J. Buckley (PJB) International Visiting Fellow. The PJB Fellow is expected to be actively engaged in the field of International Business and to pursue high quality research preferably in the key research areas of the Division including:
- Theory of the Multinational Enterprise
- Conflict and Litigation in International Business;
- Foreign Direct Investment in and from Emerging Economies such as China and India;
- International Strategy and Firm Competitiveness;
- Cross-Cultural Management and Language;
- Corporate Governance in the International Firm;
- Global Innovation;
- Methodology in International Business.
The PJB Fellowship will be awarded to scholars who have established themselves in academia. The PJB Fellow will be expected to work in an academic institution outside of the UK, to have a strong track record of publications in top-tier journals in International Business and work closely with both senior and junior members of staff within the IB Division to publish impactful research. The PJB Fellow is expected to spend 2 weeks in total in Leeds, give research seminars and deliver a few lectures to our students. Judgments of the Committee are based primarily on the quality of the applicant's professional accomplishments, academic record, and potential benefits from interaction with the members of the International Business Division.
Please note that this is not a post-doctoral programme. Recent PhD graduates are not appropriate candidates for the Buckley Fellowship. The PJB Fellow will be expected to be either an Associate Professor or an early-stage full Professor.
Fellowships will start on 1 September 2019 and conclude on 31 August 2020 (12-months duration). However, the PJB Fellow will be able to carry the title and be affiliated to the IB Division after the completion of the fellowship.
