The role

We are seeking to appoint three new academics at the level of either lecturer or senior lecturer. The successful applicants will complement the long-standing research strengths of the School.

What will you be doing?

The newly appointed academics will be joining a growing and successful department; currently one of the leading Schools of Biological Sciences in the UK. We are committed to promoting equality of access and outcome for all, celebrating diversity and providing an inclusive learning and work environment for staff and students, as recently recognised by our Athena SWAN Silver Award.

The appointments will further complement, as appropriate to the candidate’s field, University Research Institutes for Data Science (Jean Golding Institute), Global Change (Cabot Institute), and the Bristol Vision Institute, Bristol BioDesign Institute, Bristol Centre for Agricultural Innovation, the Wolfson Bioimaging Facility and the Advanced Computing Research Centre.

All of the posts will be also considered in light of how they help create new research opportunities within the Faculty of Life Sciences, established in 2018, and more widely across the University.

You should apply if

The successful applicants will all be research leaders with proven international track records commensurate with experience. They will have interdisciplinary research portfolios, evidence of academic leadership and a strong commitment and aptitude for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
