Are you passionate about entrepreneurship? Do you love watching The Apprentice and Dragons’ Den? This exciting post is an incredible opportunity to join the vibrant Future Worlds incubator team at the University of Southampton, helping researchers and students change the world with their ideas. Future Worlds is fostering a unique start up culture at the University through a web platform, engaging events and a network of millionaire investors and mentors. This role is a vital part of the initiative’s expansion into healthcare and medicine and will be responsible for planning and running events, helping film and edit pitch videos, write content for www.futureworlds.com and contribute to the team’s marketing strategy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable and organised candidate who has excellent interpersonal skills for this events and communications role within the Future Worlds team. If you are genuinely excited by the world of start-ups and spinouts then this is the role for you. Our team is passionate about entrepreneurship and the candidate will cooperate closely with them as well as work with faculty staff, academics, researchers, entrepreneurs and high profile external stakeholders. The first key component of this role will be to plan, manage and implement an events strategy, so prior experience in this area is a must. Experience with writing engaging event descriptions and articles and the use of video editing software is important. Being innovative to get the greatest value out of a tight budget is another important skill. This is an exciting role in a rapidly evolving incubator which has ambitious plans for growth over the coming years. Above all, we are looking for someone who can dovetail effortlessly into our team, quickly learn new skills and apply their enthusiasm wherever required.
