This post is currently based in the Faculty of Medicine, School of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, at University Hospital Southampton, supporting a very busy Professor of Immunology, his research group and clinical and non-clinical academics. The role also provides administrative support within the NHS environment, in areas involving clinical trials, research and patient clinics.
You will provide professional, operational assistance and administrative support to busy, dynamic clinical and non-clinical academics, including diary management, travel arrangements, minute taking, organising meetings/conferences, administrative support for grant applications, managing electronic storage of research publications, web updates and HR and financial administration. You must have previous work experience within an administrative/secretarial role and be able to use your own initiative, as well as, independently problem-solve and manage your own time effectively, with minimum supervision.
You will be a team player with a keen eye for detail and a flexible, can-do attitude and excellent IT and inter-personal skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Relevant knowledge of University processes/systems and previous administrative experience working within an NHS organisation is desirable.
