The University of Salford has a global reach, but we also share a history that is firmly embedded in the industrial past of Greater Manchester, based just 2km from Manchester city centre.

The University comprises the Salford School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology, the School of Health and Society, the School of Science, Engineering and Environment and Salford Business School.

Since receiving the Royal Charter in 1967 we have become a truly global institution that serves the needs of industry, commerce and education. Today, our unstoppable institution is bolstered by countless industry initiatives and innovative research programmes, building a thriving education community in Salford and beyond. Salford University, formed from a merger of technical colleges and institutes, was created to educate and train a growing workforce.
