Universidad de las Américas Puebla

Love for wisdom will make us greater

Mexico

Universidad de las Américas Puebla is a top private university in Mexico, which offers quality study programs of academic excellence through its faculty of 300+ full time professors, of which 4 out of 10 are members of the prestigious Mexican National System of Researchers. We are a leading Latin American research-intensive university, which is accredited in the USA by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools - Commission on Colleges, and awarded with 5 stars by QS. Our beautiful campus is located in the historic and magic town of Cholula, a small, safe, and picturesque town near the city of Puebla, which is one of the largest cities in Mexico.

UDLAP has only one campus that guarantees academic excellence and offers an integral experience to its students. The labs, library, computer rooms, and classrooms have the latest technology, allowing students to transform their theoretical knowledge into practice, thus strengthening their abilities and competencies.

Quality at UDLAP is backed by international accreditations, such as the one granted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since 1959. This accreditation has been ratified to its highest level, UDLAP being one of only two universities outside the United States to have a level 6, on a par with that country´s quality standards.

The Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, and Mechatronic Engineering programs are accredited by the International Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Food Engineering program is accredited by the International Food Technology (IFT).

In Mexico, the Mexican Federation for Private Higher Education Institutions (Federación de Instituciones Mexicanas Particulares de Educación Superior - FIMPES) has given an outright accreditation to UDLAP, the highest possible recognition. Also, close to 100% of study programs that can be accredited have been or are in process of being accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (Consejo para la Acreditación de la Educación Superior - COPAES).

Excellence at UDLAP has also translated into recognition in national rankings, such as in the one made by “El Universal”, a newspaper, in which it has been catalogued as one of the best private universities in Mexico since 2012.

At an international level, UDLAP is the only one-campus university in Latin America to have 5 stars overall from QS Stars in 2017, earning 5 stars in teaching, internationalization, inclusion, infrastructure, and employability.

Accreditations

Universidad de las Américas Puebla offers quality study programs of academic excellence through its faculty of 300 full time professors. 95% of them have graduate degrees, and 4 out of 10 are members of the National System of Researchers.

UDLAP aims its efforts to deliver a high level educational service, through an integral formation of its students in a multicultural environment based on respect and international cooperation.

All study programs have an Official Study Certification (RVOE) granted by the Secretary of Public Education and are recognized by different universities in Latin America, Europe, and the educational system of the United States.

Our students may study part of their program abroad for an enriched experience, or carry out professional practices in other countries, thus broadening their field of study or professional development.

In addition, study programs have the accreditation of COPAES (Council for Higher Education Accreditation), and CIEES (Inter-institutional Committee for Higher Education Evaluation), as well as other international accreditations.

International Prestige

UDLAP has academic cooperation agreements with more than 300 universities located in 30 different countries. All UDLAP students are encouraged to spend a semester or year studying abroad. We also offer dual degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level with universities in Spain, United States, France, Canada and Germany.

UDLAP is committed to high educational standards, and has been accredited By the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since 1959. UDLAP's international accreditation with SACS was reaffirmed in 2015 for the next 10 years, making us one of five institutions in Latin America that have earned this academic recognition. Our alumni are truly export quality.
