Department of Architecture

The design of the built environment

Architects shape the living space of people. Their work concerns both those who confidently entrust an architect with a building task and those who come into contact with the work result - through the use or even an unconscious perception in public space. This visibility should always be aware of architects.

The enormous task requires an understanding of architecture as the interplay of art, technology and economics, but also the ability to coordinate the interests of the participants involved in a construction task for the best possible solution. Studying architecture prepares students for this broad professional field.

The study programs Architecture at the University of Konstanz attach great importance to the practical training of students to be generalists. They offer three courses of study, all of which are accredited and internationally recognized. The Bachelor's degree can be obtained in 6 or 8 semesters. There is also a 4-semester master's program.
